Always with me: ChicoBags!

I’ve written about ChicoBags for years now, raving about how I use them daily as I travel. My love for their quality, convenience, and compact design is as strong as ever. I’m adding this post because, until the past 2 years, I hadn’t realized how much I’d use them when not traveling.

Unfortunately, for the past few years I haven’t been able to wander foreign countries, walking miles and miles per day. I’ve needed to stay near family and friends and at times even walking from home to sidewalk has been a challenge. But I’ve still had one or two ChicoBag Sling bags with me any time I waked out my door and even going from room to room or within my accommodations — just like when I’m out for an entire day of travel. (And there is always a TravelPack in my car or nearby closet as well.)

  • I learned just how inconvenient it is to go to a grocery store without a Sling bag. I carry one for dry items and one for wet. No worries about food because I hand wash them with dish soap and they hang dry quickly, maintaining their form and function.
  • I’ve still turned to a Sling bag to carry my Macintosh or iPad between rooms or to a hotel lobby.
  • I’ve still tossed a light jacket or spare clothing to take with me, and maybe my iPad even if just to a friend’s home or a 2-hour medical appointment.
  • And so on.

I am tall, close to 5’8″ and a size 12 or 14. The Sling, it’s predecessor, and the TravelPack work well for me. Most of my friends that are shorter have been comfortable using these. I’m not sure how someone slim at 5′ would fare using the Sling, except to say I’d recommend knotting the strap. That’s easy to do.

Since 2011, I have never found anything I like better or find more convenient than a ChicoBag. (Before the Sling model they had a smaller bag I loved.)

These are my favorite gifts.

About the TravelPack…
I own a few of the original TravelPack. There’s a new version of it out and I’m linking to that new one as the original is no longer on the website. I expect I’ll be traveling with the new model next time.
